This list provides details of charities in Wales working on waterways conservation education or whose mission is somehow related to conservation, rivers, canals and streams. All information comes from research on the Charity Commission for England and Wales in early 2024. Charities are listed in alphabetical order. Afonydd Cymru Cyfyngedig LD3 0BW
Afonydd Cymru is the umbrella body for the 6 Rivers Trusts in Wales and the Marches. Activities include river restoration, seeking and distributing funding for member trusts and lobbying Welsh Government for better environmental outcomes for rivers and fisheries.

Cardiff Rivers Group CF11 7JL
We are an environmental charity who organise and run events accross Cardiff and South Wales to clean up and improve water courses: rivers, streams, ponds or the sea! This could be a general litterpick or wading into a river to clear it of shopping trolleys, recycling as much of what we find as we can to fund the charity. We also undertake habitat management across the city.

The Carmarthenshire Rivers Trust SA32 8QY
The overall aim of this project is to restore access to spawning areas, protect river habitat and improve water quality for migratory and resident fish in Carmarthenshire. This is encapsulated in the mission statement of The Carmarthenshire Rivers Trust: To restore the rivers and wetlands of Carmarthenshire to their former glory.

Newport Unit 251 of the Sea Cadet Corps NP19 7EF
A uniformed youth organisation which provides education, training and rewarding leisure time activities which can increase the practical and personal skills of our young people to carry them through into adulthood and future employment. We are open to all young people aged 10–18 years throughout Newport City and outlying areas. We are part of the Marine Society and Sea Cadet Corps.

We provide Search and Rescue of the vulnerable and missing, we rescue the injured from hazardous locations including mountains, quarries, urban areas, rivers, lakes and floodwater. We also recover the deceased from isolated or hazardous locations. The medical treatments are provided by trained members of the team. We operate in Conway, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Gwynedd, Powys and Wrexham.
